– Going to talk about falling short.
– Going to study out two different people in the Bible.

Luke 18:18-27
– This is the story of the rich ruler.
– Other accounts tell us that he was also young.
Q: What do you imagine his personality & his reputation to be like?
Q: How did the rich ruler view himself?
Q: What might have motivated him to ask Jesus this very important question?
– Jesus tells him, “Sell everything you have and give it to the poor.”
– The rich, young ruler went away sad because he couldn’t give it up.
Q: What are some things that a lot of people don’t want to give up for God today?

Luke 19:1-10
– Here we find the story of Zacchaeus.
– He was a “wee little man.”
Q: What sort of reputation did Zacchaeus have?
Q: How do you think he might have viewed himself?
Q: Why was he so eager to see Jesus?
Q: How does Zacchaeus’ response to Jesus differ from the response of the rich ruler?

Challenge:  Choose to be like Zacchaeus who was short in stature, but because he was willing to give up anything for Jesus he didn’t fall short!
